As General Labor, you will assist in various tasks in the manufacturing process assisting the paint line, unloading laser(breaking parts out of the laser cut sheets) and assembly, or other departments as directed by the supervisor. You will be part of a fast-paced environment, possess a strong mechanical aptitude, and be willing to learn new and different tasks.What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:SafetyFollow all safety rules and adhere to core value of businessMaintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly conditionEnsure proper and effective operation of machine and tools throughout entire process. Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisorQualityConfirm material, sizes, and parts match work order/job ticketsEnsure all parts and surfaces are free from defectsAble to self-monitor quality of own work, and report to lead or supervisor unusual, defective, or operating difficultiesComplete all tasks and work within designed quality guidelinesAccurately document work performed using company required documents and proceduresDeliveryHang and unhang moving parts from paint lineSub-assemble according to work order instructionsAssist machine operators with various tasks of loading and unloadingPack and crate orders per shipping instructionsComplete tasks as directed with minimum supervisionCultureDesire to do the right thingTeam player, assisting other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to positionPunctual, on time, ready to work designated shift, every dayWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required Experience1 year experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or construction environmentPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesMechanically inclinedBasic math skillsStrong attention to detail and quality, working within precise limits and/or standards of accuracyExposure to computerized manufacturing systemsAble to communicate both verbally and in writingOverhead crane operationSelf-driven, able to work independently, and as a teamExcellent problem solving and troubleshooting skillsEducation & CertificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentWorking EnvironmentThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
