CNC Mill Machinist
Job description
ESSENTIAL ADA DUTIES
To set up and operate CNC 5 axis vertical mills, using appropriate tooling, materials, methods, and procedures in order to meet all customer print requirements in production.
Typical aspects of this job include but are not limited to the following:
Set up and operation of vertical milling machines (both CNC and Bridgeport) to produce parts to customer specs; be able to make machine offsets, read G&M code programming and edit programs as necessary
Must be able to read blueprints, calipers, micrometers, and perform surface plate layout with height stand
Move product to various locations in the shop via forklift or pallet jack, recording piece counts and location as appropriate. Record all daily production data into operating system software and on routing sheet
Experience with machining both cast aluminum and various types of plastic materials
Work closely with supervisor, CNC programmer and engineering department for all continuous improvement opportunities.
Responsible for all daily and some weekly preventative maintenance that is required on these machines
Inspect parts during production to ensure compliance with all blueprint and quality standards
Load and unload product and clean, deburr, sort and stack all finished parts
Run jobs on all machines according to the operating system software priorities and work with supervisor and Production Control for any necessary schedule changes
Observes all personal and equipment safety rules
Keeps work area clean
Maintains appropriate quality inspection methods and interval levels during all phases of a production run and notify quality control, a lead person or supervisor anytime a need arises
Assist, as required, in training people new to position in duties that are part of the job
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
