Major Gift Specialist

Major Gift SpecialistEnsures compliance with legal and ethical standards in fundraising practices. Provides regular updates and reports to senior management on major gift activities and outcomes. Tracks and reports on donor interactions and progress using donor management systems. Prepares and manages proposals and documentation for major gift solicitations. Collaborates with internal teams and stakeholders to align donor interests with organizational priorities. Coordinates and attends meetings, events, and visits with donors to strengthen relationships. Identifies potential major gift donors through research and data analysis. Engages potential donors by initiating contact and building relationships. Cultivates relationships with donors through personalized communication and engagement activities. Solicits major gifts by presenting compelling cases for support and making formal requests. Stewards donor relationships by providing ongoing communication, recognition, and updates on the impact of their gifts. Develops and implements strategic plans for donor engagement and cultivation.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability and desire to share the mission of AH throughout the community, which is to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ.Ability to communicate and motivate, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Understanding of the principles of donor marketing and fundraising cost-effectiveness, including donor targeting, donor giving opportunity development, organizational need and solutions-based selling, and expense to profit ratio.In-depth knowledge of the Central Florida Region, corporate and civic community, or a proven track record of successful territory development in a major market.Self-starter with the initiative to manage up to 120 major gift prospects and donors, and coordinate with other Foundation managers to ensure total coverage of the donor/prospect base.Appreciation for the need for consistency within AH's branding and marketing mix.Currently have or be willing to build an established network of community and business relationships.Adept in use of MS Office products, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, and ideally familiar with fundraising and donor prospect software, such as Raiser's Edge.Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality major gift solicitation.Natural forward planner, able to critically assess own performance.Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior managers, company executives, board members and grateful patients.Reliable, tolerant, and determined.Empathetic communicator, with ability to see things from the other person's point of view.Well-presented and businesslike.Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel within the Central Florida area.Open to new experiences, responsibilities and accountabilities.Ability to get along well with others and to be a team-player.Ability to speak and write in additional languages.Passion for beneficiary via volunteer work.Education:Bachelor's [Required]Master's [Preferred]Field of Study:Bachelor's in Non-Profit Management, Healthcare Administration, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, communications, social science, or related field requiredMaster's in Non-Profit Management, Healthcare Administration, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, communications, social science, or related field preferredWork Experience:3+ experience in beneficiary fundraising area of focus (children's, cancer, cardio, diabetes, etc.) [Preferred]4+ development officer at AdventHealth or another hospital system [Preferred]Experience in capital or "special campaigns," with a track record of raising $500,000 in a twelve-month period [Required]Experience in hospital fundraising [Preferred]Experience in major gifting, with a track record of raising greater than $500,000 in a twelve-month period [Required]Experience in volunteer or professional fundraising [Required]Experience with capital campaigns [Preferred]Additional Information:An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:Bachelor's Degree OR 4+ years of experience as a Development Officer in a regional or national organization with an active major gifts program that is part of an overall development effort [Required]Licenses and Certifications:Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) [Preferred]Physical Requirements: (Please click the link below to view work requirements) Physical Requirements https://tinyurl.com/23km2677Pay Range:$54,680.66 $101,717.57This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
