In this hands-on role, you will set up and operate laser welding equipment, assemble and fit precision fixtures and tooling, interpret engineering drawings and job travelers, and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality specifications. You will work closely with Engineering and Production to support the manufacture and repair of precision components while maintaining a safe, organized work environment and following ISO quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.\nThis is a 2nd shift position and the hours are Monday-Friday 2:30-11:00pm with Saturday availability required on an as needed basis required as well.\nSet up jigs, fixtures per job traveler provided by Engineering.\nInterpret blueprints/sketches from verbal/written instructions or from the part to be duplicated or fitted.\nFits and assembles jigs, fixtures.\nInspect produced parts for conformance to part specifications during 1st piece, in-process and after final machining.\nPerform hand operations (using tools of trade) involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.\nPlans the repair or modification of non-conforming or damaged, gauges and fixtures when requested by production. Provide input to Engineering as to machining design based on manufacturing capabilities.\nMaintain records, drawings or other paperwork as required.\nPlan and perform the set-up and operation for laser welding\nMay assist machine operators and set-up/machine operators.\nPerform duties per ISO standards\nInterpret Travelers and Routings/Data input\nMaintains a clean, orderly and safe working environment.\nPerform other duties as required by management.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMust have excellent working knowledge of machines, how to set up and operate equipment and fixtures.\nAn understanding in geometry and basic math\nKnowledge of Laser Welder Theory\nKnowledge of Bonding procedures\nExperience with a variety of precision inspection equipment such as comparators, gauging tools, micrometers, calipers, height gauges and established surface plate set-ups.\nKnowledge of document control\nMust be able to use hand tools\nMust be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR/EAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, Lawful Permanent Resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily.
