You'll collaborate with distributed engineering teams to enhance system functionality, support legacy versions, and migrate existing test infrastructure into a newly developed test framework. This position requires deep expertise in C/C++ and systems programming, along with the ability to reason through low-level technical challenges and write high‑quality, maintainable code.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain systems-level software using C and C++\nContribute to core platform source code and cross-version product changes\nSupport and maintain legacy versions while implementing modern enhancements\nMigrate existing test code into a newly developed test framework\nReview, debug, and optimize code for performance, reliability, and security\nCollaborate with engineers across distributed teams on design and implementation\nEstimate effort, scope, and timelines for assigned development work\nDevelop and follow engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices\nTroubleshoot complex system issues and implement effective solutions\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers as needed\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field\n5+ years of professional experience with C and C++ development\n5+ years of systems programming experience\n5+ years of experience working with distributed engineering teams\nStrong understanding of operating system concepts and low-level programming\nProven ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues\nSolid knowledge of the full software development lifecycle\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks\nPreferred Qualifications\n10+ years of overall software engineering experience\nExperience working on large, complex, or long‑lived codebases\nPrior experience supporting both modern and legacy system versions\nFamiliarity with test frameworks and test infrastructure modernization\nExperience with system-adjacent technologies such as databases or scripting tools\nStrong mentoring skills and experience guiding junior engineers\nBackground in performance optimization, reliability, or security-focused development\nSalary Range\nAt Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $135,000 to $145,000 USD annually. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
