These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require. The scheduled shift is from 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.\nBe an expert in the mechanical operation of one or more saws in the service center.\nProcess orders according to customer cut to size specifications.\nEnsure orders are processed by specification and on time without exception.\nPull and stage material to be processed at saw.\nRetrieve material from the plate racks using a fork truck.\nMeasure material to exact requirements.\nEnter data for the exact specifications into the appropriate form for data entry into the computer.\nSafely and properly operate cranes, fork trucks, and apply safe rigging.\nAssist in the packaging and receiving of shipments and in the weekly inventory cycle counts.\nUse precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers and calipers.\nKeep the immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.\nAdhere to Sunshine Metals’ safety rules, regulations and quality standards.\nAdhere to all Sunshine Metals’ handbook policies and procedures.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nTwo or more years of related experience or training working with saw and/or machinery\nOne or more years in the metals service center industry\nBasic Microsoft Office proficiency, including Work, Excel, and Outlook\nGood written and oral communication skills\nGood organizational, problem solving, and time management skills\nAbility to measure using different tools\nAbility to read and calculate numbers and data\nAbility to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction\nOperate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.\nStrong work ethic; initiative-taking\nPreferred Qualifications\nOne or more years of experience in the metals service center industry\nPhysical Requirements\nPhysical demands can include but not limited to:\nSitting\nStanding\nUse of hands or fingers\nKneeling/Crawling/Twisting/Balancing\nBending/Climbing\nSpeaking and Listening\nClose vision (sharp vision at 36 inches or less)\nWeights to be lifted:\nUp to 50 pounds—Can be accommodated with assistance and/or a lifting device if needed\nWeights to be pushed/pulled:\nUp to 50 pounds—Can be accommodated with assistance and/or a lifting device if needed\nBenefits:\n401(k)\n401(k) matching\nTuition Reimbursement\nPaid time off\nHealth Insurance\nDental Insurance\nVision Insurance\nLife Insurance\nWorking Conditions\nGood working conditions.
