This role requires strict attention to detail to ensure product quality, food safety, and consistency. The Batching Operator follows recipes, monitors mixing and batching equipment, maintains precise records, and adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety standards. Success in this role depends on accuracy, focus, and the ability to proactively identify and address issues before they impact the batch while maintaining efficient workflow. The ability to think on your feet and maintain high standards of quality and safety will be essential to the success of our batching operation. This role offers progressive performance levels, ranging from Operator-in-Training through to Expert and Trainer, allowing for growth and development within the position.\nCurrently hiring for 2nd Shift, must have flexibility around hours and days.\nKey Responsibilities:\nWeigh and accurately record product and raw material inventory with a high attention to detail\nOperate tanks that stir and mix various production materials\nFuture automation integration planned\nUtilize pumps, hoses, filters, and scales throughout the blending process\nVerify the weight of raw materials before adding\nAccurately complete labeling and blend information sheets\nTake samples to QC/Lab for approval\nEnsure safe transport and storage of materials\nInspect batch/product output and product quality throughout process\nIdentify and address potential mechanical or product issues before they escalate\nPerform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to prevent downtime\nAs needed: Set up /shut down equipment, perform changeovers, PMs, and CIP/clean equipment\nWork closely with the maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve product/equipment issues quickly\nAdhere to all safety, quality, and sanitation standards\nAlways maintain a clean and organized work area\nSuggest and implement improvements to enhance process/equipment reliability and efficiency\nPerform other duties as assigned\nQualifications\nRequired:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nAbility to drive forklift / obtain forklift certification on site\nStrong basic math and problem-solving skills\nStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to train\nExcellent attention to detail and ability to work independently\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment\nHighly organized and detail oriented\nPreferred:\nExperience working in a food, dietary or pharmaceutical supplement manufacturing, or related manufacturing industry\nExperience with Food Safety, CIP, cGMP’s\nForklift driving experience\nExperience applying Lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production processes\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift 50 lbs\nAbility to climb steep stairs multiple times a day\nMust be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach to perform essential job functions\nFrequent standing and walking in production and warehouse environments with exposure to temperature fluctuations, noise, and machinery\nWillingness to work flexible hours, including early morning, nights, and weekends\nBenefits Overview: Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision Plans, 401k Match, Family Leave, PTO & Paid Holiday Schedule.\nBotanic Tonics is an equal employment opportunity employer.
