Expanded Learning Program Instructors focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of KIPP SoCal students through hands‑on, engaging learning experiences.\n\nWe are especially looking for Instructors who love and can lead:\n\nRecreational Sports\n\nMultimedia (photography, video editing/directing)\n\nArt (painting, drawing, DIY)\n\nDance and order Cheer\n\nTheater or Visual/Performing arts\n\nRobotics\n\nYearbook or school newspaper\n\nWe're Hiring\nWe're hiring for immediate needs and for the upcoming school year.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProvide academic assistance, intervention support, and recreational programming within small student groups and in whole‑class settings\n\nDevelop, create and implement academic, recreational and enrichment activities\n\nSupervise assigned students to ensure that students are safe and the program operates in an organized and effective manner\n\nSupport and aid classroom teachers as assigned\n\nAssist with event planning\n\nMaintain daily attendance records\n\nEnter accurate and timely attendance data into the data management system\n\nEnsure timely completion and submission of all relevant data including early release forms, evaluations from students, and progress data as requested\n\nReport on student progress and behavior\n\nAttend weekly or monthly school‑based staff meetings and training\n\nParticipate in training offered by the school site and regional office\n\nAttend all additional required meetings\n\nWorking Hours and Schedule\nThis role is a year‑round position, with approximately 22‑24 work hours per week and hours increasing during the summer.\n\nMust be able to commit to a regular shift during the instructional year (Aug–June).\n\nMonday: 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.\n\nTuesday–Thursday: 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.\n\nFriday: 1:45 to 6:30 p.m.\n\nAvailable for Summer Program, possible weekend, and intersession program.\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum education requirement: High School diploma (KIPP assessment required before interview)\n\nAA degree or at least two years of coursework at a four‑year college preferred\n\nPrior experience working with groups of elementary or middle school students in an academic or recreational setting is strongly preferred\n\nAbility to lead groups of students in activities while placing a high priority on safety\n\nAbility to work independently and with a team\n\nAbility to work effectively with teachers, parents, and students\n\nWorking at an organization committed to the hard work necessary to ensure education is for liberation\n\nSpending time with students and families in the best communities of L.A., Compton, and San Diego\n\nSupport and care from fellow teachers, administrators, and regional team members\n\nOngoing professional development and coaching from a school site manager\n\nCreation of an individualized credentialing plan with top‑notch support from our dedicated Talent Team.
