{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"02698f3e013bd857095bcad0","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/02698f3e013bd857095bcad0","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/02698f3e013bd857095bcad0","title":"Construction Engineer","description":"Construction Engineer Job Description\nFacilitate mechanical building system startups & commissioning activities.\nProvide subject matter expert assistance in review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings and specifications, & contractor generated RFIs.\nWork with construction contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning & handover to end users.\nCoordination of weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, & manufacturing shops.\nConduct work progress inspections on a continuous basis.\nSupport construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.\nConduct inspections and observations of mechanical building systems for compliance with project specifications, quality standards, & applicable codes.\nOversee work of mechanical contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestone targets, & coordination with other groups.\nPrepare field engineering status reports of work progress and schedule to Project Managers.\nProvide input and feedback to improve project technical specifications and standards.\nImplement building construction projects to support site.\nCoordinates construction scheduling and communication.\nManage daily construction and RFI support for construction projects.\nAct as liaison between in-field construction and project management.\nMay be responsible for estimates, schedules, materials and purchase orders.\nSupervises construction activity in the field.\nCoordinate weekend/shutdown work plans with contractors, facilities, NAMC shops, PC, and PE.\nWork with vendors and contractors to coordinate equipment delivery, installation, and scheduling.\nHave knowledge of general building construction methods.\nMonitor equipment installation methods for confirmation that installation meets specifications and drawings.\nCoordinator RFI’s and CCR’s.\nConstruction Engineer Qualifications\n5-10+ years of experience in industrial or commercial construction projects.\n5+ years in mechanical design field.\nStrong technical knowledge of construction means and methods.\nPossess extensive knowledge of prevailing building codes and professional industry standards (including but not limited to: IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).\nProficient drawing review and field application abilities.\nOSHA 30 certification.\nExtensive knowledge of safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for mechanical installations including but not limited to Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Control of Energy, & arc flash safety.\nAbility to effectively communicate technical matters in written & verbal formats.\nAbility to multi-task, manage time, & prioritize project commitments based on established deadlines and project milestones.\nAbility to properly manage a construction schedule on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.\nExperience in design criteria development for mechanical systems.\nAbility to stand, stoop, and walk throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant for many hours of the day.\nAbility to ascend & descend stairs to roof or equipment rooms throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant.\nAutomotive experience with engine, transmission, or vehicle facilities or similar industrial manufacturer.\nGood organizational and communication skills.\nProficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project.\nSoftware experience: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project.\nJob Types: Full-time, Contract\nPay: $45.00 -
