Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionSUMMARYThe Manufacturing Engineering Manager manages the day-to-day activities of process engineering, communication with customers regarding requirements, customer quotes and proposals, organization and communication of engineering and product requirements to manufacturing and required parties. The Manager is responsible for product gross margins through process optimization.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Support and enhance sales through technical customer support and project managementManage the Customer First Article process to develop routers and manufacturing plans for new parts and improvements to existing parts.Meeting company goals for gross margin performance through regular and targeted analysis of product processing and process capabilitiesContinuous improvement of flow and methods for producing clear engineering instructions and requirements for manufacturingAttaining product gross margin targetsMaster manufacturing methods and optimizationStandardization of engineering procedures and outputsImplement methods to improve accuracy of costing methods and standardizationReview of equipment, methods, and techniques to improve manufacturing efficiency (process Cp and machine cycle time optimization)Implementations of metrics designed to measure and enhance efficiencyAssist manufacturing in the planning and layout of workflow, equipment, and assembly operationsRecruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing staff knowledge baseBudget and contingency planningISO9001:2015, AS9100 and ISO13485 certification and complianceSafety and OSHA complianceLean Six Sigma implementation where it makes senseRecruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staffMust be a team player as measured by his/her peersPerforms other related duties assignedRequirementsREQUIREDBachelor's degree in Engineering10 to 12 years of progressive operational and management experienceStrong communication and customer service skillsProven track record in the management of manufacturing operations, engineering, and quality assuranceRelevant industry experienceDESIREDStrong initiative with the ability to work independently or as part of a teamDetailed oriented with strong organizational and time management skillsExperience working in a contract manufacturing environmentExperience with machining, plating, painting and assembly processes
