We are profitable, woman-led, and small enough that this role reports to the CEO.Role Description This half-time remote Controller role is responsible for owning all accounting operations for ServiceFactor. You would own the monthly close on an accrual basis, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations. You would manage revenue recognition across a few sources of revenue, including deferred revenue schedules, and maintain reconciliations and workpapers that hold up to an annual outside financial review. Lastly, you'll build the groundwork for an internal function, including a real close checklist, workpapers, a rev rec schedule tied to billing, monthly variance analysis, etc.QualificationsYou have owned a monthly accrual close yourself, start to finishYou have built deferred revenue schedules for a subscription and contracts businessYou handle GAAP and revenue recognition questions autonomously, and your workpapers have held up to an outside financial reviewYou like building a function from scratch, and your instinct with a manual process is to automate itStrong with QBO, Ramp, Gusto and advanced Excel, and comfortable working entirely remoteCPA or CMA preferred. SaaS or software experience helps. Contractor or field-service experience is a plus.This is a senior seat that happens to be 20 hours. You own the function, you decide how it gets built, and you report to the CEO. If you have stepped back from a full-time controller role and want the responsibility without the hours, or you are winding down your own client work and would rather go deep on one company, that is who we are looking for. If the fit is right and you want more scope later, the role grows with the company.Fully remote. We are already set up for payroll in Illinois, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania and Minnesota, so candidates in those states are the easiest to get started.
