VAB Paid Intern

The Virginia Association of Broadcasters (VAB) paid internship at WRIC will run from approximately Monday, June 1, 2026, through Friday, July 26, 2026. You can ONLY apply for this internship if you were referred through the VAB.Equal Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following rotation dutiesResearching, pitching and reporting storiesHelping find and process video from social media and other sourcesShooting and editing video and photographsWriting scriptsProducing television showsProducing digital channelsOther assignments as deemed necessary by managementQualifications And RequirementsMust be a college student, junior or above, pursuing a degree at an accredited institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progressMust be a member of The Virginia Association of BroadcastersCumulative GPA of 3.0 or aboveIdeal academic background include journalism, broadcast journalism, digital/new media studies, communications, marketing, public relations, production, English and social mediaMust be 18 years of age or olderMust have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a Visa or sponsorshipDesired characteristicsSelf-motivatedMust be able to take feedback and constructive criticismCuriosity and the willingness to learn Cooperate with teammates Detail-oriented and organized Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Possess journalistic integrity Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to develop strong news judgment The student shallObtain and complete any forms necessary to receive college creditAbide by all safety rules and procedures of the companyExert best efforts in receiving training and cooperate with and follow the instructions of employees of the companyMaintain strictly the confidences of company, customers and all information or data received regarding the company and any of its trade secrets or any other confidential business information received by the student
