This role offers the chance to contribute to a growing, innovative defense company and to work on exciting challenges across marine systems, computer vision, and autonomous technologies. In this position, you will apply your passion and expertise in computer vision to develop new prototypes and help transform innovative concepts into practical, mission‑focused solutions with real‑world impact.\nHow you will make a positive impact:\nImplement robust, reusable software with a focus in computer vision/machine learning to support a wide variety of applications, such as object detection/tracking, image manipulation and processing, across a variety of domains: maritime, space, robotics, drone operations\nOptimize framework-based (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) deep learning models for fast inference performance\nContribute technically to projects, including developing architectures and detailed designs, reviewing pull requests, and generating content for proposals and reports\nInteract with customers (e.g., at project kickoff, at field exercises, etc.), users, and domain experts to analyze and understand challenges and to design and develop engineering solutions accordingly\nWork with team members (scientists and other engineers) and customers to understand project goals and translate those goals into technical requirements\nPromote and scale technical capabilities towards larger company efforts, transition, and commercialization\nWhat you will need:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related field\nEquivalent work experience is also acceptable\n2 or more years of demonstrable experience (or a Master’s degree with a relevant field) with the following (level will be informed by experience):\nA modern programming language such as Python and C++\nExperience with some of the following: object detection, object tracking, vSLAM, visual odometry, segmentation, image denoising, and/or other subfields of computer vision\nExperience with software development and source control best practices (e.g., testing, branching, code reviews)\nExperience with containerization\nExperience working in, building and setting up Linux computer systems\nAble to lift 50 lbs\nWillingness to travel to support customer- and integration-related events\nU.S. Citizenship\nThe selected candidate will be expected to possess or apply for a U.S. Government Security Clearance upon being hired\nWork in office at the Wakefield, RI facility with a flexible 9/80 schedule.\nExperience that will make you stand out:\n5+ years of demonstrated CV / Autonomy experience preferred\nExperience with tools like OpenCV and Robot Operating System (ROS)\nExperience with deep learning tools such as TensorFlow and PyTorch\nExperience developing both research and production-quality software\nExperience with data engineering and managing data sets\nExperience with computer networking and network programming\nWillingness to assist in physical installation, fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting where needed\nWillingness to work in the marine environment such as on-board boats\nExperience using electrical test equipment (multimeters, and oscilloscopes)\nExperience developing for and/or operating uncrewed vehicles\nWillingness to travel within the US to support on-site integration and testing with customers\nSalary Range\n$100,000 - $200,000\nThe above projected salary range is an estimate based on the internal job level(s) for which this role is being considered.
