HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.\nGeneral Summary:\nResponsible for set-up, operation, and maintenance of miscellaneous plating machines, processing of parts, meeting print, and specification requirements.\nSpecific Responsibilities:\nProcess parts to meet Government, Manufacturing and Environmental Specifications\nClean parts free of oil and grease per departmental specifications\nEnsure parts are clean prior to chemical immersion\nSort parts to separate media, defected parts, FOD and uniformity\nPaint, Dip, Hand blast and Tumble parts.\nStrip all coatings from OD/ID of parts\nOlive drab chromate with color or clear after CAD Plate\nMachines required to use; Hand Blast, Auto Blast, Tumble DeBurr, Jenfab, Hoist, and Spin Dryer, lube booth equipment\nApplies copper, nickel, silver, zinc and cadmium coatings to metal parts and conversion coatings to cadmium plated and aluminum parts.\nMakes voltage and amperage adjustments to proper current density of plating baths.\nMaintains pH level and proper chemical concentrations of all plating baths.\nPerforms hydrogen relief treatments after plating and chemical cleaning operations as required by applicable specifications.\nInspects a representative sample of each plating load to ensure proper coverage and adhesion.\nMeasures plating thickness utilizing x-ray method and instruments such as micrometer, magna-gage and dermitron.\nPurges plating solutions periodically by carbon treating and dummy plating and maintains plating solution cleanliness.\nTrain other operators as required\nPerforms other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n0-1 year of plating experience\nAbility to lift/push/pull 30 pounds\nMaintains a clean and orderly workplace in accordance with 5S standards\nEmployee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
