Additionally, electrical engineers may be involved in research and development to innovate and improve electrical technologies.\n\n Essential Responsibilities\n\nDesign standard jobs with guidance.\nRead and interpret customer job specifications.\nDevelop detailed Bills of material for medium and low voltage switchgear\nOrder materials.\nCreate drawings.\nTransmit drawings to shop and customer.\nInterface with project management, customer (with supervisor) and shop.\nCompleted task are check by more senior engineers.\nCoordination with Project Management throughout the project\nConstant contact with production to answer questions and provide clarification and/or authorization on design changes\nFollow standard engineering processes and timelines.\nWork on multiple projects simultaneously and manage workload as per priority\nProvide technical assistance as necessary to sales, engineering and inspection teams\nAssist with and solve problems of other production engineers on a daily basis.\nLearn policies and procedures, work instruction, ISO policies, Safety Rules and Regulations, and vendor products.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nBS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related area\nMinimum 1-3 years of experience in an Engineering role.\nAdvanced drafting/CAD skills.\nProficient with electrical design and circuitry.\nBasic understanding of power system and relay applications as applied to products.\n\nSkills, Abilities & Other Requirements\n\nBasic computer skills using Oracle, Word, Excel.\nAbility to learn/use Primavera P6 to update project status and keep all assigned projects on schedule\nAbility to read customer specifications, compare to the quote and provide technical feedback to project management and the customer on differences with minimal supervision.\nBasic understanding to being very proficient at job reviews (i.e., acquired knowledge of specs that Powell should take exception to and specs that require special attention; able to accurately interpret customer specs, etc.)\nApply technical documents to develop one-lines, three-lines and control schemes for SWGR using AutoCAD\nApply cost competitive techniques to develop the most cost-effective solution for the engineered to order product\nAble to apply NEC, ANSI/IEEE, and various other codes as it applies to the day-to-day activity\nBasic to thorough understanding of power system application along with relay application and coordination\nAble to understand, interpret and troubleshoot customer needs and problems\n\nWorking & Environmental Conditions\n\nThe employee typically performs duties in a normal office environment. There will be some work in a shop environment and exposure to the elements of our shop.
