Coordinates work of development team members and others in Client Programming with those who have requested projects.\n\nPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:\n\nProvides designs for proposed systems and system enhancements. Develops modifications and\nchanges to existing programs and procedures as required to satisfy user requests.\nSupplements coding, testing, and documenting computer programs where necessary to achieve\nresults and meet schedules.\nLeads and mentors team members on assigned projects and implementations.\nEnsures programs and procedures developed by team adhere to established departmental\nstandards and guidelines.\nHelps CIS keep commitments to clients with on time completion of development teams projects.\nDevelops project cost estimates for assigned clients.\nReports progress through updates to project control system status and time recording and\nattendance at weekly project control meetings.\nNotifies manager immediately when it appears schedule dates will not be met or if an assigned\nproject will lead to operational or support difficulties.\nSuggests potential improvements to the processes and techniques used by Client Programming\nthat will result in improved quality and/or responsiveness for our clients.\nInteracts with project requestors to ensure correct understanding and business validity of user\nrequests and demonstrates results to requestors of projects.\nAdvises less experienced programmers and provides training by sharing technical knowledge\nwith others.\nSolves balancing problems.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nSKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:\n\nAbility to write and explain structured and maintainable COBOL code.\nProficiency with all Tandem utility programs.\nAbility to modify and create SCOBOL on-line programs required.\nAbility to develop complex on-line and batch programs.\nAbility to design operationally in a manner that is reliable and efficient.\n\nMINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINNIG NORMALLY REQUIRED:\n\nA bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.\n5+ years of COBOL programming experience.\n5+ years of increasingly complex project development experience.\n\nAPPLICATION PROCESS:\n\nYou can directly apply through Cass's website at https://www.cassinfo.com/careers (https://www.cassinfo.com/careers).
