Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Controller to assist with our projects in Maumee, OH! This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Receives and provides information to all staff, vendors, outside accountants, and clients. Maintains client confidentiality of all financial and project work and the confidentiality of employee information. Must be able to work independently with instructions as to the general results expected and meet deadlines on projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP/AR, payroll, WIP, fixed assets)Own month-end close, internal financial reporting including account reconciliations and ensure GAAP complianceOversee project-based revenue recognition and ensure alignment with ASC 606Oversee annual FAR overhead rate audit and rate submission with state DOTsOversee annual financial auditAssist in the creation of the annual budget and rolling forecast, including the 13-week cash flow forecastPlay a key role in acquisition integration and financial system alignmentSupport cash flow management and performance trackingImprove internal controls and drive automation initiativesManage and develop a small, skilled accounting teamWork cross-functionally on projects and initiatives. Complete ad-hoc assignments as neededOther duties and responsibilities as directedSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA & MBA preferred)10-15 years of accounting experience, with at least 7-10 years as a ControllerAbility to meet tight deadlinesAEC industry background strongly preferredDeltek software experience required (Vision, Vantagepoint, or similar)Workday Adaptive Planning OfficeConnect experience preferredStrong knowledge of project accounting, WIP, and ASC 606 & 842Overhead Rate Audit & FAR Part 31 experienceM&A integration and high-growth environment experienceExcellent leadership and communication skillsBenefitsThe base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting.
