SummaryJob Summary Data Center Technician (Fort Wayne, IN): Position Type: 6-month contract, 40-45 hours/week, Monday Friday, 7am 4pm EST Number of Positions: 40 Start Date: May 2026 Location: Fort Wayne, INCore Responsibilities Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure (fiber & copper) in data center environments. Labeling, installing, pulling, dressing, and testing fiber cables and racks. Install ladder racking, seismic bracing, and perform field terminations. Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and design documents. Operate DSX 5000/OTDR testers, program and download test results, save/verify/submit to customers. Create and apply mass labels per Portmap; differentiate live vs. decommissioned cables. Conduct copper and fiber cable testing, troubleshooting, and service swaps of network devices. Perform fusion splicing (Ribbon/Single, OSP/ISP), dress/furcate trunks for splicing. Maintain orderly paperwork, run service jobs, and document work. Adhere to safety, quality, and code standards; maintain cleanliness. Collaborate with stakeholders, remove project obstacles, and provide project feedback.Required Skills & Qualifications Experience using basic telecom hand tools. Knowledge of wiring schemes, cable pulling, wiring testing, and field terminations. Ability to layout MDF/IDF closets, install/dress/terminate cables, and install racks/panels. Understanding of job safety and customer service. Capable of reading and understanding construction documentation. Experience in data center environments. Ability to operate and understand FIM database and scanning equipment. Must pass OneSource Level 2+ background check and drug screen. Certifications: OSHA 10 and Aerial Boom Lift required.Physical Requirements Ability to walk, stand, bend for extended periods; some sitting. Lift/carry equipment up to 50 pounds. Climb ladders and pull cables. Dexterity for operating equipment and computers. Effective verbal, written, and visual communication skills.Preferred/Key Skills Data Center, Technician, Decommissioning, Splicing, Low VoltageEducation Bachelor s Degree NOT required.
