Learn more about our employer brand at makpar.com/careers.\n\nPosition Overview\nThe Software Systems Engineer II will develop, integrate, test, deploy, and support software within an assigned ICAM workstream. The engineer will work on the DHS-approved application stack, commit code regularly to the enterprise repository, maintain unit and automated testing coverage, and participate in secure CI/CD deployments.\nThis is a software engineering role with production accountability. Candidates must be prepared to support Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting and to remain involved after code is deployed.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop, enhance, integrate, test, and maintain software for an assigned ICAM workstream.\nDevelop application components using Java, Spring, Hibernate, Angular, and MySQL.\nCommit code daily to the approved enterprise repository.\nParticipate in source-control branching, peer review, merging, and release-management practices.\nDevelop and maintain unit tests and automated test coverage.\nWork with test engineers to resolve defects and validate release readiness.\nSupport CI/CD pipeline execution and zero-downtime deployments.\nDevelop code that meets security, quality, performance, and Section 508 expectations.\nSupport integrations between ICAM applications and internal or external systems.\nTroubleshoot application, integration, configuration, data, and performance issues.\nProvide Tier 2 and Tier 3 incident support for assigned applications.\nParticipate in root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and after-action activities.\nWrite or maintain user stories, technical documentation, system-design materials, and operational procedures.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.\nRequired Qualifications:\nHands-on software development experience using Java.\nExperience with Spring or Spring Boot.\nExperience with Hibernate or comparable Java persistence frameworks.\nExperience with Angular or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks.\nExperience working with relational databases such as MySQL.\nExperience with Git-based source control and regular code commits.\nExperience developing and maintaining unit or automated tests.\nExperience working in an Agile development environment.\nExperience participating in CI/CD software delivery.\nAbility to troubleshoot application and integration issues in non-production and production environments.\nAbility to provide Tier 2 or Tier 3 technical support.\nAbility to obtain and maintain favorable DHS EOD, suitability, and required system access.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior DHS, or federal civilian software engineering experience.\nExperience developing ICAM, IAM, SSO, OAuth/OIDC, PKI, PAM, account-management, or access-control applications.\nExperience with GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, SonarQube, Selenium, Nexus, Jira, and Confluence.\nExperience with AWS, Azure, Docker, EKS, or hybrid-cloud environments.\nExperience with zero-downtime deployments, stateless microservices, and production DevOps support.\nExperience developing Section 508-compliant applications.\nExperience with secure coding and remediation of static or dynamic security findings.\nBenefits:\n\nAt Makpar Corporation we understand that we all need to balance work and life – that is why we have a great benefits package, excellent training and career development opportunities, flexible work schedules along with a generous compensation package.
