We recognize each individual's contributions and treat each other with dignity, respect, and fairness.THE ROLEThe Production Manager will oversee Woven, Denim & Leather categories for the John Varvatos brand. They will be able to multi-task and flourish in a fast-paced environment, seeking opportunities (product, process) to increase efficiencies and revenue opportunities, while being responsible for the on time deliveries to ensure John Varvatos product is manufactured to the highest quality & in line with the critical path requirements. This role is being offered as a temporary assignment with potential for permanent placement commensurate on performance.WHAT WILL I BE DOING?Participates in initial concept meetings to gain understanding of the new collection seasonallyManage creation and maintenance of all development & production charts to achieve target prices and marginsPurchase trims for proto and sales samples with Design directionMonitor and track raw materials for trials, proto samples, & bulk production from suppliers.Issue Design related memos for team (i.e. proto additions and cancellations, trim changes)Work with factories to prepare flash cost and build programs based on merchandising business requirementsCreate sample & production purchase orders and check all line sheets for accuracyManage the set up and entry of all costing into RLMPrepare, update and analyse all costing for review with appropriate parties for line openingPlace Bulk Commitments to factories and establish delivery flow of bulk goods against sales requirementsAnalyse and communicate issues with team and overseas factories & agentsManages internal relationships with the technical design department to ensure that they have visibility of what has been bought & assist in prioritising comments being issued in line with the critical path requirementsManage & monitor the critical path across the whole business and track flow for to ensure on time deliveryWork with the Logistics team to ensure that bulk arrives and is received in the relevant DCs according to the critical pathWork with all suppliers to ensure production planning is in line with the critical path requirementsReasonable for travel to meet suppliers and build strong relationships, and manage any issues to ensure strong process and deliverables are in place.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to understand requirements in line with strategic goals, and prioritise initiatives to deliver to the timelines required (for example. Wholesale, Nordstrom, digital projects, seasonal collections etc).Manage & develop direct reportFoster a culture of change management leading with the 'Why' and 'How' to enhance the 'What' we do.Constantly driving transparency and communication across all stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?Must be proficient in woven, denim, leather construction and componentsKnowledge of aparel market and competitionMust have experience working directly with a designer or designers in the development of wovens, denim, leatherMust have worked across all categoriesExisting relationships with overseas apparel factoriesExcellent communication skills (written & verbal) and organisational skillsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree required8+ years of relevant work experience in production or product development preferredThis is a full time salaried position at a rate of: $80,000 - $90,000 USD/YearlyWHAT WE STAND FORRESPECT: We treat our team, customers, suppliers, partners and planet with respect, always.
