Tech Lead - AI Engineering
We are seeking a Tech Lead with deep experience in AI/ML to shape architecture and lead delivery in a rapidly evolving domain. This role is ideal for a senior engineer from a leading AI lab (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and the like) or Big Tech (Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Nvidia, and the like), or an exceptional researcher (e.g. from IIT, Stanford University, UCL, or equivalent) ready to step into a high-impact leadership position. This is a foundational leadership role with equity participation, offering significant upside.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & BuildDefine and lead system architecture (back-end, APIs, and lightweight front-end systems)Build scalable AI assurance platforms integrating open-source testing and evaluation frameworksDeliver portable, production-ready solutions across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)Design evaluation frameworks for foundation models and AI agentsAI Model Testing & AssuranceBuild, evaluate, and stress-test models for fairness, robustness, explainability, and governanceDevelop benchmarking pipelines, automated evaluation systems, and continuous monitoring infrastructureProduce audit-ready artefacts, dashboards, and reports for regulators, clients, and standards bodiesClient Relationships & Communication (Critical)Act as a technical bridge between engineering, clients, and regulatorsLead client-facing engagements, pilots, and workshops with senior stakeholdersTranslate complex AI governance frameworks into clear, actionable engineering solutionsBuild long-term relationships with enterprise clients, financial institutions, and public sector organisationsCommunicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiencesCollaboration with Global AI LeadersPartner with teams and ecosystems connected to leading AI labs such as OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Anthropic, Meta AI, and Microsoft ResearchEngage with frameworks shaped by organisations like OECD and evolving global standardsContribute to the long-term technical roadmap of AI assurance platformsSkills & ExperienceProven track record building, training & evaluating AI/ML models (industry, research, or advanced academic work)Experience with AI testing, assurance, or evaluation tools strongly preferredStrong Python skills and familiarity with modern ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including deployment and scaling of AI systemsFamiliarity with Responsible AI frameworks (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF)Hands-on experience with explainability and fairness tools (e.g. SHAP, LIME, AIF360, ART)Excellent communication skills and client-facing experienceStrong documentation and stakeholder management abilitiesIntellectual curiosity, ownership mindset, and ambition to grow into senior leadershipWhy JoinDirect exposure to top-tier AI labs, regulators, and enterprise clientsOpportunity to own architecture, influence strategy, and build from zero to oneEquity participation aligned with company growth
