Paralegal
Position Overview
Paralegal – Atlanta office, Georgia defense litigation practice. Must be located in Atlanta GA and able to commute to 30303 office. Strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented.
Job Requirements
Minimum 4 years civil defense litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense practice.
Experience with calendaring, docketing, interfacing with court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, vendors, drafting basic pleadings and legal correspondence.
Issuing non‑party discovery (documents, medical chronologies, discovery summaries).
Coordinating court reporters, process servers, investigators, experts.
Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, internet, spreadsheets, word processing; ability to type and operate office equipment.
Self‑motivated, self‑starter, strong organizational, prioritization, excellent written and verbal communication.
Detail‑oriented with proofreading/editing skills.
Proactive, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to undertake additional tasks as requested by attorneys.
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Certified or registered paralegals encouraged.
Job Responsibilities
Maintain effective communication with attorneys, clients, courts, counsel, and other parties.
Perform administrative duties: maintain calendars, manage hearings and deadlines, organize case files, coordinate logistics.
e‑file documents in state or federal court as needed.
Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices for efficient retrieval (using Clio).
Act as liaison between trial teams and third parties, including experts and vendors.
Track case progress, deadlines, and client information.
Draft basic pleadings (EOAs, notices, motions, discovery) under attorney supervision.
Prepare responses to discovery requests.
Assist with mediation or trial preparation as required.
