The first six months are fulltime in the office.\nIdentifies improvements and major repair needs on the distribution system. Assess the effect of alternative performance improvements on a cost/benefit basis and determines priorities. Responsible for engineering support to Field Engineering Design for any customer additions that require a substantial change to the distribution system. Plans system improvements in-line with customer needs and engineer circuit changes to improve performance for assigned circuits. Reviews daily interruption reports. Analyzes projected circuit deficiencies (e.g. voltage, overloads, etc.) for assigned circuits. Develops alternatives to improve circuit reliability. Recommends equipment replacement vs repair to maximize Return on Asset (ROA). Participates during major restoration efforts including Emergency Preparedness.\nEssential Functions:\nResponsible for planning function for all assigned circuits. Responsible for assigned circuit performance including load growth, voltage profiles, fault studies and reliability studies and initiating work requests/projects where needed to improve performance.\nResponsible for identifying benefits to be derived from individual projects and predicted desired outcomes.\nResponsible for providing Project Management support for specific projects.\nResponsible for engineering resolutions for multiple outages in the Distribution System\nCreate Work Requests in STORMS/AIMS\nOperates independently within a team environment. Reports to Lead – Distribution Design Engineer on deviations in construction design guidelines and maintenance specifications.\nWill be responsible for EMF communications and/or measurements for customers\nMay become Subject Matter Experts (SME).\nWorks with the Real Estate Department and Customer to negotiate easements, as required.\nConsiders safety in all circuit analysis.\nSupports Account Executives with customer quality of service issues.\nMakes direct contact with customer and develop corrective actions\nWill have nonexclusive, non-supervisory, storm restoration and emergency assignments.\nResponsible for supporting Operations with distribution issues. This includes review switching, develop contingency plans, prioritizing work, monitoring yellow tags, provide engineering support to Field Distribution Design\nProvide regulator and capacitor control settings for Electrical Maintenance.\nWork with P&CE on developing Recloser and Breaker settings. Responsible for outage, voltage, and power quality investigations. Participate in System Operation Review Committee (SORC) and engineer corrective action to prevent reoccurrence. Provide reports as required.\nEngineer, develop and present distribution projects to Operating Company Review Committee (OCRC) for approval.\nResponsible to evaluate proposed DG interconnection applications.\nReview and implement annual procedures, (e.g. TD941).\nKnowledgeable of various computer applications\nOther related duties as assigned, including support to SOC (see contract for details)\nEXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:\nEducation:\nA Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.\nExperience:\nTwo (2) to Five (5) years of equivalent experience in Energy Delivery is preferred.\nTechnical Skills:\nKnowledge of distribution systems is desired.\nMust be able to work in a team environment.\nMust hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.\nInternal Contacts:\nLiaisons with other DDE team members, Lead-Distribution Design Engineer, Manager – Distribution Design, and Manager-Electric Field Operations.
