The ideal candidate is someone who can assess a task and independently determine the next steps to move a project forward.\n\nThe position includes a combination of field work and office work supporting a wide variety of environmental consulting projects.\n\nResponsibilities may include:\n\nEnvironmental monitoring, sampling, and field investigations.\nCollection of water, soil, air, and other environmental samples for laboratory analysis.\nPhase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.\nPreparation and implementation of remedial investigation and remedial action plans.\nOversight and documentation of environmental remediation and construction activities.\nEnvironmental permitting and regulatory compliance assistance.\nCoordination with clients, contractors, laboratories, and regulatory agencies.\nEvaluation, organization, and interpretation of environmental data.\nPreparation of technical reports, correspondence, figures, tables, and other project documentation.\nOther environmental consulting and project support activities as needed.\n\nThe successful candidate will be able to manage multiple assignments, communicate effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.\n\nB.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, Natural Resources, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.\n0-2 years of environmental consulting or equivalent relevant experience is preferred. Entry-level candidates with applicable education, field experience, internships, or technical training are encouraged to apply.\nValid driver’s license and a willingness to travel on a routine basis.\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document field observations and activities.\nWillingness and ability to perform fieldwork outdoors in a variety of terrain and weather conditions.\nAvailability for occasional extended field assignments and overnight travel predominantly throughout New York and less frequent travel throughout the Northeast.\nThis position requires frequent carrying, lifting, and transfer of equipment and supplies. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.\nCandidates must have solid computer and writing skills, strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interface with a variety of clients.\nExperience and competency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).\nThe ability to effectively multi-task and work both independently and in a team environment are important qualities for this position.\nCoursework, knowledge, or experience related to field sampling and data collection, drilling oversight, stormwater compliance, environmental regulations, permitting, and regulatory compliance is a plus.\nCandidates with OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.\n\nEstimated Pay Range: $26-30/hour.\n\nActual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.\n\nBarton & Loguidice is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
