In the automotive sector, our recipe for success is: finding solutions today for the challenges of tomorrow.\n\nJOB SUMMARY:\nThe Quality Lab Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and inspections to ensure that our fasteners meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves working closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring that products meet customer expectations.\n\nThe Lab Tech will conduct routine testing of fasteners and materials, including physical and chemical tests, using various testing equipment and techniques. The Lab Tech will utilize a variety of laboratory equipment in order to perform tests on finished product, raw materials and fasteners in different stages of completion. The Quality Lab Technician will also record, analyze, and interpret test results and maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, results and any deviations from standards.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\nPerform tests on parts based upon standards found on the lab evaluation form.\nCut parts on the saw.\nMount and polish samples.\nResponsible for grain flow preparation with acid.\nTake pictures with a Stereoscope / Nikon microscope.\nTrace parts to blueprint\nPerform induction / micro-hardness testing.\nConduct thread lap checks.\nPerform up-set testing.\nPerform spectrometer / chemical analysis / wire audits.\nCalibrate gauges on the shop floor / use of CAQ.\nUtilize SAP / Safe-Launch.\nMeasure parts with different gauges.\nConduct floor audits.\nCrosstrain in the Final Lab.\nIdentify any non-conforming parts and report any non-conformance to his or her immediate supervisor.\nPrepare and review technical reports, quality records, and documentation related to testing and inspection; make sure all paperwork is filled out correctly.\nParticipate in quality review meetings as needed.\nADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nInteract with other departments for collection, test results, and paperwork.\nPerform housekeeping as necessary.\nMay assist in employee training programs.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nTwo (2) years of college, or experience in an industrial / manufacturing lab environment, or a combination of both.\nProficiency in using laboratory equipment and testing methods.
