Floor Crew Technician

POSITION TITLE: Floor Crew Technician/General MaintenanceSITE: Maintenance DepartmentREPORTS TO: Director of Buildings and GroundsTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month (Full-time w/Benefits)STARTING DATE: ImmediatePERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Determines needed supplies and equipmentStrips, rinses, and washes tile and linoleum floorsSands, refinishes, and washes various types of floorsVacuums, cleans, and makes minor repairs to carpetsMaintains special surfaces on gymnasium floorsOperates equipment used for floor maintenanceDisposes of finishing and cleaning agents according to established proceduresKeeps simple records of materials, labor costs, and time required to accomplish assignmentsEDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:Knowledge of methods and experience in floor finishing and maintenanceSkill in using appropriate equipment and cleaning productsAptitude for floor maintenance demonstrated in prior work, school experience or personal activities.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with othersAbility to follow simple written and/or oral instructionsWorking knowledge of floor cleaning and maintenance including familiarity with established techniques, equipment, and cleaning and finishing agentsSkill in use of and care for floor maintenance equipmentBehave as a positive role model both professionally and personally
