We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.\nJob Summary\nThe CDL Class A Driver (LTL) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.\nHours and Wages\nMonday-Friday, 7:30AM start - completion of route\n10-15 hours of overtime expected each week\nPaid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week\n$23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience\nDuties and Responsibilities\nConduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order\nTurn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms\nDeliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers\nVerify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate\nCollect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposes\nMaintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies\nWash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily\nAssist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed\nSkills and Abilities\nAbility to operate a manual transmission\nMust possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement\nMust possess good customer service and organizational skills\nMust be able to work independently and make quick decisions\nEducation and Experience\nAt least 21 years of age\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred\nHold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to pass a DOT physical\nAbility to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally\nFull range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.\nAbility to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals\nBenefits\nHealth Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.\nEEO and Affirmative Action Statement\nSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
