In this role, you'll balance your time between writing and reviewing code (building the web and mobile surfaces that clinicians, schedulers, and patients use every day) while also managing and growing a small team of engineers. You'll report directly to our CTO and work closely across product, design, and backend engineering to ship high-quality, reliable software at a meaningful pace.Our ideal candidate is a strong full-stack engineer with deep front-end and mobile experience who has started their management career path. You're comfortable holding both a technical and a people lens simultaneously. You care about code quality, design systems, and user experience, and you know how to help engineers on your team grow. You thrive in a startup environment where the roadmap is ambitious, the team is small, and ownership is real.What You’ll DoCoach and mentor engineers at various career stages while fostering a collaborative team cultureBuild and scale the mobile and web application engineering teamsTrack progress and coordinate delivery across concurrent initiativesPartner with product and design to translate requirements into clean, well-scoped engineering plansSpend the majority of your time as an individual contributor (writing, reviewing, and shipping code) while managing a small team of front-end and mobile engineersOwn code quality and performance standards across the web and mobile codebaseEnsure developer velocity by implementing and advocating for development process improvement across multiple technical workstreamsContribute to front-end and mobile architecture decisions, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and consistent with team standardsDesign and build systems that comply with healthcare data security standards and regulations (HIPAA, SOC-2, HITRUST, etc.)RequirementsExperience working in a startup environmentBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field6+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering managementTrack record of successfully delivering complex technical projects on schedule in a high growth, fast paced, startup environmentExperience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, web services, and modern API development practicesHands on development experience with React, Typescript, React Native or equivalent mobile framework, JavaScript, and NodeExcellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholdersProven ability to evaluate, develop, and retain engineering talentWorking knowledge of data security and compliance requirementsPrior work with scheduling, logistics, workforce management, or business operations solutionsNice to HavesExperience with design systems or component library developmentExperience with backend systems and frameworks such as Python and DjangoExperience at a growth stage healthcare technology startupPrior work with home healthcare, telehealth, or care coordination solutionsFamiliarity with logistics optimization and scheduling systemsStrong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7)Experience managing and deploying applications with AWSWhat We OfferIn addition to offering a competitive salary and equity, we want to ensure every team member has the tools they need to work to the best of their ability.
