Stripe’s newly revamped broader Procurement organization consists of Third Party Risk, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Deal Management, Procurement Enablement, A/P & T&E.Supplier Deal Management is an instrumental function within the procurement organization at Stripe that builds an efficient supplier contracting process, reduces friction for business leaders, works in partnership with TPRM & Legal to minimize risk, and increases the velocity at which Stripe can engage key suppliers.SDM Mission: Drive agreements efficiently via appropriate channels, bringing structure to the overall contracting process in partnership with stakeholders while providing a customized and guided user experience and effectively managing value and risk for Stripe.What you’ll doResponsibilitiesReporting to the Head of SDM but working very closely with SDM Leads, the Supplier Deal Manager will:(i) Answer initial questions and educate DRIs on the overall risk assessment and supplier contracting process (ii) Conduct initial review of the DRI provided use case and appropriate contractual terms (or assemble appropriate Stripe templates) and prepare agreements for legal review according to defined guidelines when necessary(iii) Review and negotiate commercials in supplier agreements when needed(iv) Keep a close eye on productivity and communication with DRIs using our zip procurement toolEngage internal stakeholders (ie: Legal, Sourcing, Third Party Risk, and Stripe Buyers) to understand their needs and translate them into a risk-balanced approach to prepare contracts using training & existing frameworksManage engagements within our Procurement System (Zip) & Contract Lifecycle Management system (Agiloft)Support end-to-end contract lifecycle managementPartner with respective internal teams to resolve business inquiries and troubleshoot issues related to contractingWho you areWe're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Minimum Requirements8 years of professional experience in contracting - (within a procurement, legal operations or other commercial deal negotiation capacity)Demonstrated ability to understand commercial and legal language commonly used within commercial contracts, ease in reviewing and drafting contractual languageExperience with contract negotiations and being an effective partner to legal teamsSolution-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing contracting best practicesAbility to earn trust quickly, deliver value for a critical & fast-paced function involving multiple stakeholders, and stand behind opinions with sound reasoningFlexibility and comfort with changing requirements in a high volume environmentMeticulous attention to detail and a rigorous decision making process Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to represent Stripe effectively when interfacing with stakeholdersSpecific contracting experience with tech transactionsPreferred QualificationsBroad contracting experience across a range of common categories (Ex: tech, marketing, workplace, services, etc.)Experience designing and managing a Contract Lifecycle Management systemUnderstanding of or experience with e-procurement tools and systems (ie: Zip, Agiloft, etc.)Familiarity with the fintech industry and its supply chain and procurement challengesA builder's mindset and a willingness to question assumptions and conventional wisdomIn-office expectationsOffice-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.Pay and benefitsThe annual US base salary range for this role is $123,600 - $185,400. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
