The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.\nThis is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.\nTechnical Writer\nAs a Technical Writer you will support the creation, maintenance, and improvement of technical documentation for complex equipment and systems. This role will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, service, and product support teams to develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for operators, technicians, and customers.\nResponsibilities\nCreate, edit, and maintain technical manuals, service guides, maintenance procedures, and product documentation.\nReview engineering drawings, specifications, and change documentation to develop clear operating and maintenance instructions.\nEnsure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable industry standards and company requirements.\nCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, service, and product support teams to gather technical information.\nSupport continuous improvement of documentation processes, tools, and delivery methods.\nMaintain document revisions and updates as products and systems evolve.\nAssist internal teams with technical communication and documentation best practices.\nSupport engineering change management activities and documentation updates.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering Technology, English, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.\nExperience creating technical documentation for industrial equipment, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or similar industries.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.\nStrong written communication, editing, and organizational skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and technical publishing/document management tools.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with content management systems (CMS), ERP systems, and document control processes.\nFamiliarity with Teamcenter, Adobe Creative Suite, FrameMaker, or similar technical publishing software.\nUnderstanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.\nKnowledge of engineering change processes and industry quality standards.\nExperience developing service, maintenance, or operator documentation for complex equipment.\nDesired Attributes\nDetail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.\nEffective communicator who can work across multiple departments and technical disciplines.\nSelf-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.\nAbility to support and mentor team members on documentation standards and best practices.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nPay Range: $50,000-$80,000 – Commensurate with experience\nAbout RFA Engineering\nRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
