Custodial positions at Ice Arena facilities at times work in a cool environment; the temperature at the ice rink(s) will vary from 40-55 degrees Fahrenheit. Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, the Custodial Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing the various skills that are associated with the routine maintenance of the facility and equipment, including mechanical preventative maintenance and custodial care of the building.

Provides leadership and instruction to small groups of custodians by leading or directing custodial activities during scheduled work periods (including weekends), or when performing special cleaning projects, such as Football, Basketball, Baseball, and other events that are assigned (per work orders) by the supervisor.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:Conducts a variety of basic custodial, maintenance and groundskeeping functions, following established regulations and standards for cleanliness and safety.

Reports items that need repair and additional cleaning to Sr. Building Maintenance Worker, Custodial Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor or the Work Order system. Under the general supervision of the Custodial Supervisor or Residence Hall Manager, performs duties in accordance with established standards and instruction, for university owned Residence Halls, Apartments and Dining Facilities.

Assists the Head Custodian in monitoring and performing all custodial activities. In the absence of the Head Custodian, will coordinate the work of other custodial staff. Experience, Skill, and Certification:•Previous experience in a custodial or maintenance position.
