As an VMFH ICU Nurse in our Level 1 Stroke and Cardiac Center, you'll monitor the highest acuity level of patients following extensive injury, surgery, or life-threatening disease. Overall responsibilities in our 28-bed Intensive Care Unit: Manage complex patients requiring open heart & neurological surgery, neuro and cardiac interventional treatments, ventilator support, mechanical circulatory support, such as IABP, Impella & ECMO, CRRT, and other devices as necessary.

The Assistant Manager, Surgery is responsible for the day-to-day operations of surgical cases to ensure delivery of quality service and optimal patient flow in a fast-paced Operating Room at a Level 1 Trauma facility rendering patient care to patients undergoing either elective or emergent procedures from various specialties.

Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer into job for the following departments: 01-60300 CVU, 01-60306 FH CVU, 01-74230 Cardiac Surgery, 01-75706 FH Cath Lab, 01-75900 Cardiology, 01-75931 Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab, 01-61705 FH Tele, 01-75700 Cath Lab. Receives brief report from Pre op RN when the patient is taken to the OR, Assists anesthesiologist in transfer of patient to and from OR, Brings chart and any supplies needed for the patient after discharge to the PACU, Gives brief report to PACU RN when taking the patient from the OR to PACU.

Minimum one year current acute care RN experience and/or skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience required for SNF care settings. Minimum one year current acute care RN experience and/or rehab experience required for rehab care settings.
