Job Summary Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team to provide a variety of services.

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The Patient Care Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care provided by the caregiving team.

Yale New Haven Hospital offers a voluntary residency for all new Patient Care Associate hires. All candidates must successfully complete the Patient Care Associate Competency Based Training and Practicum and unit specific competencies, including age-specific competencies.
