  • MetroPlus Health Plan (the Plan) currently contracts with hundreds of vendors with aggregate expenditures approaching $100 million per year.
  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for the financial and operational performance of a portion of MetroPlus Health’s vendors.
  • The successful candidate will have a broad range of business experience and education, the ability to apply best practices from other industries, the willingness to learn new skills on the job, and is consistently motivated to improve the financial and operational performance of the Plan as consistent with organizational values.
  • Management of the contract lifecycle of MetroPlus Health’s vendors: activities range from the anticipation of contract expiration, research of market solutions as they pertain to business needs, execution of the procurement process in adherence to internal policy and procedures, negotiation of contract terms, and facilitation of the internal approval process.
  • Conduct the procurement process is accordance with internal operating procedures.
  • Manage the financial activities of the vendor relationship including purchase order creation, invoice validation, budget management.
  • Monitor service level agreements, key performance indicators, and other relevant aspects of the vendor performance, implement corrective action plans, as necessary.
  • Identify cost improvement opportunities, develop strategies for implementation, and execute strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Conduct data analysis and develops reports designed for executive audiences and other ad hoc reporting to inform the decision-making process.
  • Act, as needed, in a project management capacity to conduct focused projects, assisting in the development of strategy as it pertains to desired business outcomes and involved in the coordinate their completion with MetroPlus departments and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain document ecosystem in both contract management software and internal shared folder areas to cultivate explicit knowledge for the Plan.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders such as Legal, Finance, and the Project Management Office, to assist in the variety of activities surrounding vendor management.
  • College degree required, Master’s Degree in business and/or health care administration or a related area of study preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of vendor management or a related area of expertise.
  • Minimum of five years health care experience, with a thorough understanding of the managed care and healthcare industry and processes and procedures.
  • Experience in Information Technology preferred.
