  • AmerisourceBergen is looking for a passionate, innovative and experienced UX Researcher to join our growing product design team and support the vision, build-out and ongoing lifecycle of our eCommerce platforms for AmerisourceBergen Drug Company.
  • Under the direction of the Sr. UX Researcher and Product Design Lead, this role is responsible for partnering with our business leaders, consultants and agile teams to plan and conduct research and ensure the voice of the customer is translated into meaningful and easy to use capabilities.
  • This role will collaborate closely with product owners, product specialists, engineers, and other designers/researchers to ensure the successful implementation of user research strategies.

  • Mentor and train team members in the development and practice of user experience research techniques, processes, and methods
  • Utilize design thinking approaches in product design and research

  • Work closely with product design teams to understand their goals and identify research topics
  • Plan and conduct research to gather user feedback and take action based upon the learnings and insights
  • Identify process improvements and implement changes to streamline the process
  • Communicate user behaviors and insights in compelling ways, focusing on actionable recommendations for cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to an accessible user research library and provide transparency into user research activities and insights.
  • Create user experiences that are optimized for delivery across multiple platforms
  • Contribute to design initiatives focused on understanding user needs and translating these into product strategies and experiences
  • Test ideas that challenge the status quo and deliver high quality user experiences that raise the bar in terms of innovation, simplicity and consistency
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements and user needs into workflows, wireframes and intuitive user experiences that are technically feasible
  • Experience creating, maintaining and working with design systems, journey maps, personas and workflows
  • Experience conducting both generative and evaluative research
  • Experience using both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Experience conducting user research and testing as well as ability to analyze, synthesize and present research findings
  • Contribute to the overall advancement and improvement of processes, introducing and documenting new additions as necessary
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating experience researching for complex systems and user experiences
  • Background in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), Cognitive Psychology, Information Science, Communications or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • 3+ years experience conducting UX research initiatives through the product development lifecycle in collaboration with cross-discipline stakeholders.
  • Experience planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research for complex applications.
  • Strong research strategy skills in areas of consumer/user research and analysis, personas and customer journeys, interviews, surveys and usability testing.
  • Proficiency with tools and applications that enable and supplement research efforts in remote environments (usability testing, card sorts, surveys, first click tests, etc.)
  • Command the ability to plan and conduct generative and evaluative research activities, strong presentation skills, and a focus on ensuring insights are implemented into the best user experience.
  • Ability to work closely with agile squads to drive effective and efficient implementation of research and design.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, documentation and organization skills.
  • Strong presence, including ability to partner with and effectively influence product and engineer leaders
  • Ability to effectively communicate across teams and manage projects while working from home
  • Possess a versatile research toolkit and know when to apply the appropriate methods for best results
  • Skilled at communicating verbally and in writing to diverse audiences
  • Proactive self-starter; assertive and able to ensure that research principles are adhered to
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to quickly re-prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Analytical mindset and creativity to balance detailed problem solving with 'big picture' strategic view

  • What your background should look like
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI) or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • 3+ years experience in digital product design for both web and mobile platforms.
  • Experience working in a mixed methodology environment (waterfall and agile).
  • Experience designing graphic user interfaces for complex applications.
  • Strong product design strategy skills in areas of consumer/user research and analysis, personas and customer journeys, design thinking, ideation and brainstorming techniques, sketching, prototyping, and concept validation.
  • Expert ability to understand & create user-flows, annotated wireframes and content structure.
  • Ability to work closely with agile squads to drive effective and efficient implementation of designs.
  • Knowledge of how HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web languages impact design process and development.
  • Strong presence, including ability to partner with and effectively influence product and engineer squad members
  • Proactive self-starter; assertive and able to ensure that Product Design principles are adhered to
