  • The Under Armour E-Commerce team is seeking a highly driven User Experience Designer to develop features and enhancements that will help our customers buy, research and get inspired on underarmour.com using desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
  • The ideal candidate will help deliver on our mission to create a compelling online shopping experience unrivaled in the industry across all of our U.S. and international websites.
  • You will be an advocate on behalf of our customers – working to understand and solve for customer needs and barriers.
  • The UX Designer will be aware of current Ecommerce, web and mobile best practices knowing when to embrace conventions and when it’s ok to break out new and bold concepts.
  • UXers will work collaboratively with designers, developers, merchandising, marketing and project management on a variety of projects in a fast-paced and positive environment.
  • Develop sketches and wireframes for desktop, tablet and mobile to show screen flow, navigation and interaction details.
  • The site is responsive with some adaptive qualities and your designs need to work with defined breakpoints and device capabilities and constraints.
  • Present design concepts with cross-divisional teams explaining the purpose and rationale, with willingness to iterate.
  • Create, collaborate and run qualitative studies (when time allows) to include customer feedback in the design process.
  • This can come in the form of surveys, in-person usability tests, remote user tests (UserTesting.com, WebEx) prototype tests, consumer panel deep dives, etc.
  • Observe the tests and clearly communicate the findings and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed user interface requirements and work with business analyst team members to document requirements, ensuring scenarios are worked through.
  • In some projects, work in “blue sky” scenarios where you take an overarching goal and bring it to life with little direction and in other cases, work from detailed use cases to show flows, layouts at different breakpoints and interaction details.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform designs and solutions (e.g. web metrics, a/b test results, third party research, consumer profiles, etc.)
  • Work with web analytics team to determine post launch success metrics and use the data to suggest improvements.
  • Manage the user experience throughout the development cycle for your projects, ensuring a well thought-out product comes to fruition by providing timely UAT feedback to designers, developers and business analysts.
  • Consider global requirements for your work (e.g. longer text in translations, cultural considerations.
  • Outstanding user interface design skills with an acute ability to problem solve.
  • Strong, demonstrated understanding of user-centered design.
  • An understanding of fundamental design disciplines such as typography, layout, color and animation.
  • Knowledge of user experience testing and analysis, ideally conducting, observing and documenting usability tests and prototyping
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of underlying technical concepts and front-end development (XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, etc.)
  • Proficiency with several graphics tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, etc
  • Know-how of one or more wireframe and prototyping tools (Axure is current tool of choice).
  • Experience using web analytics and a/b testing to drive design decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with team, and leadership.
  • Proven presentation skills.
  • Desire to be a big part of a growing team responsible for protecting and advancing the Under Armour Brand as well as increasing sales in the direct-to-consumer channel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once and deliver high quality output in a timely and consistent manner.

  • Experience with Microsoft office suite.
  • A solid portfolio demonstrating innovative design solutions.
  • 4+ years of experience designing (visual, ux/user experience and wireframing) innovative websites and/or applications.
