We are looking for an engineer with 4+ years of experience performing traffic analyses for public clients, utilizing Vissim traffic simulation software and Synchro signal timing software.

Your contributions will support the effective long-range planning of multimodal corridors across the Commonwealth.Our team is looking for an analyst to support several large-scale traffic analysis projects in performing traffic analyses and forecasting travel demand. These projects require the use of PTV Vissim, Synchro, Cube, Microsoft Excel, ArcGIS, and other related softwares. We are looking for an experienced engineer to quickly step into a task management role and support training and growth of recent graduates.Kimley-Horn is a large firm with the heart of a small company. Overtime, this would open opportunities to work with the firmwide modeling and simulation team on projects located across the country. Qualifications:
Passion for transportation planning and traffic operations, specifically interest in performing large traffic analysis projectsBachelor’s Degree in a relevant program (e.g., engineering or planning) and 4+ years of relevant experience Intermediate traffic analysis skills using most of the following applications:PTV Vissim – experience developing models, calibrating models, performing future year analyses, and reporting resultsSynchro – experience performing traffic analyses and taking signal timings from Synchro to VissimCube or related travel demand modeling software – experience running travel demand models and forecasting future year travel demandMicrosoft Excel – proficiency in using Excel to compile traffic counts, balance volumes, create reporting tables and figuresExcellent verbal and written communication skills exhibited by experience writing reports and giving presentations to technical and non-technical audiencesPassion and demonstrated drive to achieve goalsUse of creativity to recommend solutions to challenging problemsAttention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environmentClear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsExperience using ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro to perform spatial analyses and produce mapsExperience managing tasks or small projectsExperience teaching or delegating tasks to younger staffApplicants must be legally authorized to work for Kimley-Horn in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
