- Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, Transportation this position is responsible for providing construction engineering and inspection oversight, supervision, and technical expertise for the implementation of County transportation improvement projects, verifying construction, and completing work per the construction contract documents.
- Projects may include erosion control, demolitions, clearing and grading, subgrade and base work, asphalt and concrete paving, storm sewer systems, underground utility work, concrete work including curb and gutters and sidewalks, and bridge repairs.
- This position should be able to perform at a senior level field inspector.
- Inspects grading, subgrade and base work, pipe laying, asphalt or concrete paving, drainage, curb and gutter work, bridge repairs and maintenance, and sediment control procedures on County road construction projects to ensure conformity with approved plans and inspections, and ADA compliance.
- Reviews erosion control plans; identifies solutions to drainage and sediment control problems; ensures proper installation and execution of each element of a plan.
