  • The Town of Speedway, Indiana is searching for dynamic talent to serve as its next Town Manager.
  • Speedway has a talented team of department leaders and elected officials, an engaged and progressive citizenry, tremendous economic development both underway and planned, and is in close proximity to Indianapolis.
  • The town has a population of 12,000 and covers 4.5 square miles.
  • Speedway is a full service municipality with police, fire, streets, water, wastewater, parks, and cable television with a total workforce of more than 125 employees.
  • The Town is home to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the headquarters of Allison Transmission and Praxair Surface Technologies, as well as several other companies in the racing and manufacturing industries.
  • Speedway is known for its Main Street which has become a thriving urban destination over the past few years connecting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to charming neighborhoods in a thriving local neighborhood commercial node.
  • The ideal candidate for Town Manager will be;

  • A motivated leader capable of continuing impressive successes in commercial economic development, seasonal and traditional housing development, & neighborhood community development,
  • A public finance expert,
  • An outstanding communicator capable of fostering successful relationships with citizens, governmental entities, and a variety of partners
  • 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in a municipality organization.
  • A bachelor’s degree in public administrations, business, or related field with a master’s degree ideal.
  • An ideal candidate will be ready and willing to be a key contributor to the success of this dynamic community.
  • Salary $85,000-$115,000 +/- DOQ, plus full benefit package.
