- Work as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Forensic Science Initiative (FSI) - a 15-week offering organized by the Center for Pre-College Programs and the Forensic Science Program within the Department of Chemistry & Environmental Science at NJIT. The FSI program uses Forensic Science to strengthen underserved public high school students' STEM knowledge, skills, and preparation for college work.
- TAs work collaboratively with the project team to hold recitation sessions, facilitate learning, grade assignments & exams, help with scheduling guest speakers, SAT/ACT tutoring, assist with homework, career exploration, and college preparatory/readiness skills development for a group of up to 24 high school students.
- There are 2 Teaching Assistant (TA) positions available.
- Conducts instruction in SAT/ACT test preparation, gap skills, career exploration, academic counseling, college application, and financial aid.
- Assists in developing students' communication, study, and time management skills, executive function skills, and assists in the development of 21st century life skills embedded in classes, where appropriate.
