  • These duties are such as but not limited to performing technical essays, standardized and semi- routine biological, chemical, hematological, Immunological, Immunohemotological, microbiological and surgical test in the research and clinical laboratory.
  • May perform test in one specific discipline or perform selected test in multiple disciplines.
  • JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs standardized and semi-routine biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, immunohemotological, microbiological, and serological tests in a research or clinical laboratory.
  • May perform tests in one scientific discipline or perform selected tests in multiple disciplines.
  • Creating human cell preparations(blood and tissue) and performing a variety of assays such as but not limited to molecular, immunology and microbiology.
  • Dedicated to developing and performing a state of high through/ output of quantitative PCR assay to measure different gene expressions of human inflammatory biomarkers.
  • Rigorously following established GCLP/CAP standard operating procedures with great attention to detail in addition to a thorough approach of complete record and location keeping of sample origins, files, processes, procedures, SOP's and Data. Setting up various assays, obtaining, recording, saving, and posting data to its proper storage locations in addition to preparing results in data systems, tables, figures, and calculations.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical or biological science.
  • Certification or eligible for certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), or categorical, MT (HEW), MT (HHS), MT (AMT), MT (NCA), CHT (ABHI).
  • Letter of eligibility from agency must be confirmed prior to employment.
  • Certification must be obtained within 18 months of cumulative employment as a medical technologist in the state of Georgia.
