- The Staff Integration Engineer will provide commissioning support for a variety of complex utility projects and programs, including supervisory control and data acquisition, packet-based networks, distribution automation, cyber security, microwave radios, wireless networks (including 4G/5G PLTE), fiber optics, and smart grid applications.
- The Staff Integration Engineer will work in the field with project teams and subcontractors to support the installation of rack or wall mount electronic equipment, make ready cabling, field engineering, commissioning, and start-up solutions for project designs by the Networks, Integration & Automation (NIA) team for client projects throughout the nation.
- Assess physical installation readiness for commissioning based on design specifications.
- Perform physical changes based on design specifications: inside building fiber, copper cabling via existing raceway, install rack- or wall-mount devices, jumper fiber, copper cables to devices / FDPs / patch panels, install/remove device SFPs, punch down low-voltage cables (66/110 blocks, RJ11 for phones, wire-wrap), etc.
- using applicable tools to include test fiber optic cables, toggle and test automation points at cutouts, test terminals, trace cables; ringtone if cable without tone, butt set for cable with tone, conduct loopback tests to remote ends, test radio feedline for coax and waveguide on device-based, electronic and application tests.
