  • The Pharmacy and Health organization has the vision of improving lives of our customers by creating an integrated health care business that offers convenient, timely, and innovative solutions for consumers as well as enterprises.
  • The Pharmacy and Health organization is seeking a dynamic and motivated Sr. Business Development Manager for our new B2B segment.
  • The Sr. Business Development Manager will own identifying, recruiting and onboarding businesses seeking Pharmacy and health solutions for the employees.
  • This person will be the primary point of contact for those companies throughout the entire sales, onboarding, and maintenance process.
  • This person will own sales pitch, legal documentation, problem solving and maintaining an ongoing relationship with the accounts in their book of business.
  • The Sr. Business Development Manager will develop and manage a sales pipeline which will include high value and transactional accounts.
  • Through this pipeline, the Sr. Business Manager will close deals that will exceed aggressive account acquisition and revenue targets.
  • This role will be responsible for identifying and documenting the needs and learnings of the vertical and coordinating with relevant internal stakeholders to identify solutions to meet these business needs.
  • In addition, this position has been given the mandate to grow our B2B business through non-traditional avenues such as upsell of new pharmacy/health services and creating a customized solution based on the needs of the business.
  • This role has a significant financial impact within the company.
  • This position must be a true subject matter expert with a very strong knowledge not only of Albertsons Companies pharmacies and pharmacy operations, but also a deep understanding of competitive offerings and how they fit with our business.
  • 20% Understand the needs of the vertical and product/service offering of Albertsons to build the pitch deck specific to the vertical.
  • Identify existing and new business opportunity in this vertical and engage with these companies to continuously refine our B2B offering.
  • 40% Build a pipeline of companies in the specified vertical, reach out to a defined number of companies every period and close a minimum number of deals every period, as defined by the business.
  • Perform, direct, and review all due diligence and financial analysis for all potential deals.
  • This includes projecting revenue and cost for every engagement and lifetime value of a deal.
  • 10% Upon closing a deal, coordinate all closing and post-closing activity.
  • Ensure a seamless integration with the divisions to deliver the services.
  • This includes ensuring Corporate Pharmacy, Division, and store management are prepared to deliver the B2B services in a timely manner.
  • 20% Grow the existing book of business by maintain an active engagement with the companies and by identifying the new services that we can offer.
  • Be the voice of the customer to learn about their evolving needs and partner with internal teams to find corresponding solutions.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills are imperative for success.
  • 10% Report on progress of their book of business, key learnings, and challenges.
  • Pilot new programs and initiatives that can be rolled out regionally/nationally across all verticals.
  • What we are searching for
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent job experience
  • 5 plus years of business development experience in pharmacy, health, eCommerce or retail industries
  • At least 3 years of business-to-business selling experience
  • Skills And Background
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmacy and health industry
  • Experience in self-prospecting, qualifying, and cold-calling companies
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and negotiating skills
  • Ability to work well with senior management.
  • Ability to work efficiently and confidentiality
  • Identify, qualify, acquire, and grow Business commitment to Albertsons offerings.
  • Self-prospecting to identify relevant sales target.
  • Effective Sales Pipeline management using an established CRM tool
  • Implement and track metrics for measuring the success of deals in your territory.
  • Partner with the legal team and manage complex contract negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have P&L experience of at least 5 years working with portfolios that exceed 5 million dollars or more in accountabilities.
  • Percent of the time does this position require travel away from the home office up to 40%
