- Under the direction of the Access & Disability Services Office Interpreters facilitate communication between the Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing consumers.
- Interpreters use American Sign Language (ASL), signed English, transliterating and/or other manual sign systems to provide interpreting services in a wide variety of settings including classrooms and related activities; college events; and employee/applicant activities.
- ASL interpreters must be able to convey accurately the register, tone, intent and content of all communication participants.
