Sex Offender Treatment Provider

- Understand and employ the Good Lives Model (GLM) and Risk-Needs-Responsivity Model (RNR) as underlying theoretical basis for sex offender treatment.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments using approved assessment tools to include STABLE, ACUTE, penile plethysmograph (PPG), psychological tests, clinical interviews and other techniques designed to define treatment goals and strategies for clients.
- Minimum requirements: Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university required.
- Must be licensed in one of the following: medical doctor/psychiatrist, advanced practice registered nurse recognized as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist or mental health nurse practitioner, psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed professional counselor intern, licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed marriage and family associate, licensed clinical social worker and/or licensed master social worker under a TSBSWE's approved clinical supervision plan.
- A license as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider (LSOTP) or an Affiliate Sex Offender Treatment provider (ASOTP) is not required but preferred as prescribed by the Council on Sex Offender Treatment pursuant to the requirement set forth in Texas Administrative Code, Title 22, Chapter 810.
