  • Genomatica is seeking a Research Scientist I/II with expertise in high resolution mass spectrometry and experimental proteomics.
  • This person will be in charge of developing proteomics technologies while overseeing and supporting the delivery of accurate routine protein data across projects.
  • The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in proteomics and LC-MS to support and help advance Genomatica strain engineering and bioprocesses.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in protein extraction, quantification, and identification is key for this position.
  • The Analytical team is responsible for quantitative and qualitative analysis of fermentation samples using a variety of chromatographic, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy techniques, including LCMS, HRAM LCMS, GC/GCMS, HPLC-UV-RID, ion chromatography, ultimately helping develop cost-advantaged production of chemicals using microorganism.

  • Qualifications & Experience The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to satisfactorily perform in this role.
  • Education Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related fields, PhD preferred, but also consider MS with minimum 5 years of experience in proteomics in biotechnology industry, preferably in the field of renewable chemicals and energy processes.
  • This position involves working primary in a laboratory setting.
  • As such this position requires the ability to stand or sit at the bench, the use of standard laboratory equipment as well as computers and office equipment.
  • The position requires communication with other individuals through a variety of methods.
