- Unit Description: Staff RN II is an integral part of the Addiction Treatment Center (ATC) at The University of Vermont Medical Center.
- The ATC provides a range of evidence-based outpatient services to people with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, including individual counseling, intensive group-based therapy, psychiatric assessment, and medication management.
- The RN II works as part of the multi-disciplinary team to support patients in the assessment and treatment process as well as providing care coordination to assist stable patients in transitioning to lower levels of care.
- The main responsibilities of the RN II include but are not limited to: assessing patient vitals and withdrawal symptoms, serving as main liaison with toxicology labs and pharmacies, ensuring patients have their prescribed medications by coordinating with pharmacies and completing prior authorizations, triaging patient calls, providing patient education, tracking and documenting patient toxicology results, and administering point-of-care testing.
- Three years of relevant RN experience with demonstrated competencies specific to a clinical area.
