  • Project Managers at SmartWatt are the master of all things project management for comprehensive energy conservation projects.
  • You oversee your assigned projects from planning to procurement to successful execution.
  • You are not only ensuring the project runs smoothly and gets completed on-time, but that customer satisfaction is high, safety and risk management are spot on, the quality is excellent, and there is profitability and positive cash flow.
  • Our Project Managers contributions to the team include: Collaborating with development teams to create cost budgets and refine scopes of work,
  • Reviewing and approving customer contacts and agreements,
  • Developing, managing, and directing project plans and schedules while proactively identifying project risk management and implementing mitigation strategies,
  • Procuring, managing and coordinating project resources (i.e. material, subcontractors) to ensure effective project delivery which includes timely execution of the project close-out process,
  • Owning and controlling Profit & Loss (P&L) of assigned projects and ensuring projects meet financial targets; this includes owning project billings and collections.
  • The core components of success are (i.e. must haves): A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business or related, and
  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management, Project Engineering or a related role, preferably in the Construction industry
  • OR A High School diploma, and
  • At least 10 years of experience in Project Management, Project Engineering or a related role, preferably in the Construction industry
  • Active Driver's License
  • The following are a definite plus, so if you've got it be sure to tell us!
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience in MEP project management and/or energy performance contracting (highly preferred)
  • Experience working with local vendors and subcontractors (highly preferred)
  • Experience working within best practices for energy efficiency projects

  • Computer skills; proficiency with the MSOffice Suite, familiarity with scheduling software and/or project management information systems (preferred), and an ability to learn new technologies.

  • As a Project Manager you will spend about 25-50% of your time out of the office working on customer sites which will require driving, walking and standing during those times.
  • The other 50-75% of your time will be spent in an office setting sitting for prolonged periods of time utilizing the computer and phone.
  • While on customer sites the environment can vary and there is potential to be exposed to hazardous conditions, extreme temperatures and/or dusty or noisy conditions; although this is rare.
  • The position also frequently communicates with customers and co-workers and must be able to exchange accurate information in an understandable way.
  • The travel required for this position is approximately 25-50% of the time and will be mostly regional.
