  • The Product Manager maximizes profitability by driving all aspects of the product lifecycle management process for each product category in support of organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Drives financial performance and profitability of all product categories.
  • Assumes responsibility for alignment across Product Development, Sales and Marketing, and Manufacturing to drive aggressive, profitable growth.
  • Leads the development of an aligned strategic product category plan and drives a coordinated and comprehensive product portfolio.
  • Assesses the competitive landscape to understand competitive product offerings, performance specifications, and business models; develop appropriate actions as required.
  • Engages in market research to understand market trends, customer requirements, and competitive offerings that bridge to and validate business and product initiatives.
  • Leads strategic customer engagement efforts to effectively position and place products; assists in development and launch of marketing and training materials as needed.
  • Presents products and proposals to channel partners, internal members and end users.
  • Leads engagement with LFO to determine best cost, quality, and customer experience while ensuring customer/market expectations are being met.
  • Manages product lifecycle management process for each product category.
  • Participates in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Business or related field preferred.
  • At least 4 years of relevant business experience required, 6 years preferred.
  • Experience in furniture or manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Prior experience mentoring and training other members.
  • Proven expert knowledge and understanding of assigned categories.
  • Ability to develop and execute product strategies.
  • Ability to use complex data to drive business decisions.
  • Possess advanced business and financial acumen.
  • Ability to lead direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking ability.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with changing priorities and meet deadlines with quality output.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability to effectively influence without direct authority.
  • Understanding of HNI products and processes preferred.
  • Primary working location will be in an office environment where low volume noise is on-going.
  • Occasional trips to manufacturing facilities.
  • May need to build products for market review.
  • Sitting/standing at work station for up to the entire scheduled work day.
  • Majority of office time spent on a computer system.
