LHH is seeking a Product Development Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a newly created leadership position which is a direct result of consistent and sustained growth within the industry. You will have the opportunity to lead a well-established Product Development Department, coordinate with internal and external customers, and oversee the design and development of new product lines. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $120,000-130,000 per year and offers several medical insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match. ***H1B/Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position*** RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Lead a team of Design Engineers, CAD Drafters, and R&D Technicians as they design, validate, prototype, test, and manufacture new product lines</li><li>Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and engage with external customers to incorporate their product design inputs into the development process</li><li>Approve and oversee new projects from beginning to end including the definition of the concept, designing, BOM selection, and manufacturing</li><li>Oversee new part approval process, product testing, material and tooling sourcing, etc. through production</li><li>Manage the lab staff and ensure product conformity to customer standards</li><li>Work closely with the engineering team and technicians on the floor who will put your team’s vision and schematics into action</li><li>Collaborate with the sales and client services teams about client requests, custom projects, etc.</li><li>Verify and validate new designs and conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during the design and beginning stages of the manufacturing process</li><li>Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for the completion of daily tasks and then report on those activities</li><li>Perform initial and ongoing product and performance reviews</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required</li><li>Must have 8+ years of experience with New Product Design within a manufacturing environment (preferably within a highly regulated industry)</li><li>Must have 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing New Product Development/Design Engineering staff members within a manufacturing environment</li><li>Must be a skilled leader who can help engineers prioritize their work, maintain high customer satisfaction rates, and solve problems in a timely manner</li><li>Must have product design experience using CAD software (i.e. AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, etc.)</li><li>Must possess the ability to read blueprints and have experience with design systems</li><li>Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills</li><li>Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team</li><li>H1B/Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position</li></ul> If you or someone in your network fit this profile and would like to apply for this Product Development Manager position in Indianapolis, IN then please submit your application alongside your resume using the link in this posting.
